    Push or Pull monitoring ?

    Hi,

    If i let my zabbix server to pull the information from the agent into the server (over the internet). I have to open a port on my router. But is it possible to let the agent pushing the information through teh gateway, without having to set open a port, to my zabbix server?

    If this is possible i would be a great benefit for extending zabbix in our company with our client servers over the internet.

    How do i set this up?

    Use ZABBIX Agent active checks. In this case ZABBIX server won't connect to agents, the agents will connect to the server, get list of active checks and process them independently.

      Hi

      but how do i do this:

      My logfile on my host in my external network is the following

      Code:
      Server=127.0.0.1,193.173.xxx.xxx
      #ServerPort=10051
      #Hostname=193.173.xxx.xxx
      #ListenPort=10050
      #ListenIP=193.173.xxx.xxx
      #StartAgents=5
      #DisableActive=1
      #DebugLevel=4
      LogFile=C:\tmp\zabbixagent.log
      #Timeout=3
      In my gateway (internal network) i have a port forwarding to my zabbix server.

      But where do i need to configure that in my zabbix server web interface? Do i need to set all my items in my windows template
      from Type: Zabbix agent
      To Type: Zabbix agent Active

      or what do i need to do more in my configuration script?

        Just wondering if you figure out how to do this. I'm trying the same thing, monitoring servers over the internet with out opening ports on the client side. I have port 10051 forwarding to my zabbix server on my side but I can't seem to get it working.

        Thanks,
        Rick
