    Zyxell SNMP

    hi Guys,

We have a challenge on our hands. We have had Zyxel routers in our Zabbix monitoring system for years now without a problem. Only recent models seem to have changed their SNMP protcol (interval?).

Zyxel USG 100/200/300 and all other 'older' models have no issue in monitoring and creating graphs.

Yet newer models 20W/60W/110 does! It seems like the SNMP data is pulled every 5 min and therefore the graph's are 'spiked'. please look at the print screen below:

this makes the graph kind of use less. we can guess the amount of data going trough the zywall but we are not shore....

So I'm puzzled. Where do I start?
I Guess with you guys, does anyone have the same issue as we? and if so can we find the cause?

if you have any questions, please let me know!

How often do you fetch the data from new ZyXELs ?

    Regards,
    Alex!

I've used the same template on both old and new zywall's.
If I've checked correctly, it's every 60 seconds.

it's a discovery item for incoming traffic on the interface.
      Incoming traffic on interface $1

If my explanation is not clear you can maybe check the template?
I've attached the template to this massage.

      thanks again!

Can you switch to the 500 latest values and check how often you receive the values ?

          Good thinking!

it showed me this, every 5 minuets their is a value.. then the 4 minuets between nothing...

          very interesting.

this would be an issue of the zywall I guess... not shore

Kind-a funny thing... Yes, it looks like it is a Zyxel's limitation. not Zabbix. Does ZyWall have some timeouts for SNMP requests? For example, try to look for any other SNMP metric with the same update interval?

            Regards,
            Alex!

Just a quick update; Zyxel comfirmed an issue with the firmware. They had a fix ready and we are testing it right now.

Seems to be better for now!
