    Port Details on MAP Link

    Hi,

I'm a complete newbie on Zabbix, I've been trying create my network topology on a map, need help on showing the port numbers between connected link between devices,

have attached a screenshot of NetXMS, want my map to display the port details

could someone please help me configure this,

I'm looking to replace WhatsUP Gold as our monitoring solutions, we as network service providers need to monitor our link status between devices, so knowing which port is down will help, especially if the node is having multiple uplinks to other devices,

    This is what we do

I create items for each port on the switch normally it's only a handful of ports that we need to know status on like the links from our core or to specific devices..

We then add the 2 hosts to map to visualise it we then add a link to the host and put a macro like in the below image which shows the data. Mostly we want to monitor the transfer rates in/out on the port.

Hidden behind the blanked out part is the name of the switch...

      Port Details on MAP Link

      HI boyemillar

Thanks for the reply, however as i said i'm a newbie and i did not get the process to get the job done, i tried but couldn't.

actually what i need to achieve is that the MAP should display the port numbers on both sides of the device, like i shared in the attachments, Example: Port no 49 on device 1 is connected to Port 50 to the other switch

Beside i need the link to turn red when the link is down based on the port status of the link, and an email trigger,

I am also trying to get a trigger working, which turns the link red when the link goes down, however zabbix would service my purpose only if i can see the port numbers on the MAP along with the link status.

can i see a screen shot of your map, with the process you have mentioned
