Installing Zabbix on a clean install of Ubuntu 17.10

    Hello all,

I tried to installed Zabbix 3.4 on a clean install of Ubuntu Server 17.10 but it wasn't working right so I started over with the Zabbix install steps and went with 3.2 but couldn't start the Zabbix server service.

I have just did another fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 and was going to start over but before I do does anyone know of any reason this wont work?

Should I just go with CentOS or some other version of Linux instead?

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hello,

Zabbix works on any linux/unix version

the only difference - for some systems there are precompiled packages, for other you must install from sources.

Ubuntu is easy way, it have packages.

can you tell me what exactly is not working ?

    Regards,
    Kaspars

Install Zabbix 3.4 issue with Ubuntu 17.10

I have had a same problem when install Zabbix 3.4 on Ubuntu 17.10. It indicates some missing supporting files or component when executing command > apt-get install zabbix-server-mysql. I might have to move back to Ubuntu 16.04 for more stable.
