    "agent.ping" DNS Timeout

    Hi,

today I had the following situation: My first DNS Server was in a planned maintenance and Zabbix started to mention that the Zabbix Agent wasn't reachable on all hosts.
I've checked this and this is definitely a false positive. All Agents where reachable. My guess is, that this false positive was simply caused due to a too short "timeout" as the check command takes a bit longer because of the slower DNS lookup (As the first DNS Host is down).

I've looked through the documentation and couldn't find an option how I can workaround this issues with setting a higher timeout or something similar.

Is there any option to fix this problem?

Btw: Within the resolv.conf I have multiple DNS Servers which are all reachable and the options are "timeout:1"

As soon as the DNS server was available again, all Agent Checks went back to "Okay" . It's definitely a problem of this check, as the ICMP/fping Check was working fine and it's also using DNS for the ping.
