    zabbix-agent depends libssl1.1

I'm having trouble installing zabbix agent on Debian 8.9

    root@narcos:~# cat /etc/debian_version
    8.9

    root@server:~# apt-get install zabbix-agent

      Just one correction.
It is not he problem with zabbix agent per se but with binaries which you are trying to use on the system without ad/or with wrong installed librares.

If you still cannot solve your issues first you need to tell something about type and version of your OS.

          Hello,
I've the same issue on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS, I've tried with repository version 3.0, 3.2 and 3.4 and all of them results in error:
          Reading package lists... Done
          Building dependency tree
          Reading state information... Done

I was able to install v2.4.7 from Ubuntu repository but I need to upgrade in order to use some features of newer version.

Any suggestion on how to solve is welcome!

          Thanks

            I add some details:

            this is my installed libssl:

            libssl-dev/xenial-updates,xenial-security,now 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.10 amd64 [installed]
            libssl-doc/xenial-updates,xenial-updates,xenial-security,xenial-security,now 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.10 all [installed,automatic]
            libssl1.0.0/xenial-updates,xenial-security,now 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.10 amd64 [installed]

I've already tried an apt-get upgrade but there aren't updates for libssl

Are you using a repository for Ubuntu 16.04(Xenial)?
The Zabbix agent for Ubuntu 16.04 does not depend on libssl1.1.

Debian 8.9(jessie) does not depend on libssl1.1 as well.
Please use the repository suitable for distribution and version.

Today I tried to install zabbix agent 3.4 on Linux Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial. First time I got the same error about dependence on libssl1.1.

When I did an investigation I find out that I confused distribution and I was trying to install debian 8 package on Ubuntu. When I corrected my mistake the install process went correctly.

So, make sure you try to install correct package. Twice! :-)
