    Zabbix log monitoring, permissions denied.

I replied on another thread but get no response, and this is important to me :V

I have problems with zabbix permissions with log reading. I tried this way:

    Code:
    chgrp zabbix /var/log/messages
    chmod g+r messages
But changed path to mine (/var/log/klienci/zabbixcl/logi) and still nothing (adding zabbix user to admins too, nothing), permissions denied. All works fine when i change to chmod 777, but i know this is not safe way to solve this. Any idea what to do with this? Thanks.

The user your Zabbix agent is running with should have read permissions on the log file.

But he have and still nothing. He is in admin group, he is in other group who have permissions to read file/folder.

Please post some details, like OS+version, ownership and permissions of the file, group ownership of the zabbix user...
        Also run the command "sestatus".

After delete old and generate new logs with folders from rsyslog and giving them new ownership seems finally work, interesting (was doing same thing on old files and this new). Threat to close, thanks for help.

              Start from here: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...l/introduction
Go through the docs, they're pretty good if you sort of know what you're doing on a server.
