Too many events

We let various teams share a Zabbix. One of these teams is generating too many events; 50K - 90K daily. Even at 3.4.6 housekeeping is killing us.

I have ran partitioned trends and history for a long time, so housekeeping is disabled for them. Would it be possible to partition events? The control is for "Events and alerts", so I'm not sure which one I would disable. Possibly I could delete partitions at 30 days and set the appropriate one to 32 days or something.

Any ideas? (other than my suggestion that this many events is really meaningless)

Yes, it is possible however you should spend some time to lower the number of events by, for example, improve triggers definition by adding more dependencies between triggers.
