How to receive an alert?

I'm confused as to how receive an alert. If something goes down, how do I get an e-mail? The Trigger doesn't have any mention of notification. The Alert lets you choose a trigger and user, but no e-mail addresses are attached to user accounts. The only place I can find to put in an e-mail address is under Media Types, and I don't see anything that references Media Types.

Action should be able to allow you to get alerts. You have to setup media (email or pages) first.

Found it

I found it. Configuration > Users. After you've created a user, look at the "Action" column and click on Media. I didn't know that was a link...
