cannot connect to [SRVR1] [connection refused]

    Hello,

i have some servers i monitor and i use a template for doing that.
Some servers are monitored with the agent, others only with SIMPLE CHECK, icmpping (so without an agent).

For the servers that i use only icmpping, i disable all other items and triggers.
But in configuration ==> hosts, i get in STATUS ==> Not Available and in Error ==> Cannot connect to [SRVR1] [Connection refused]

i already tried another template with ONLY icmpping (simple check of course), but it stays the same.
For other servers where i use the agent, i don't have this problem.

When i then look to latest data, i have for last value a 1, so the checks are done correctly, and the date and time of the last check is also ok.

i also changed debug level to 4 to see if there is anything in the log but there is nothing in the log of that server so why do i have those errors if everything works fine ?

btw, i recently updated to 1.1.6 but i already have this problem since 1.1.

in the host, i also have the port filled in 10051 but it is not used of course because i am not using the agent.
I tried to delete the port field data but then i get the message that it can't be empty ==> Warning. Field [port] is not integer.

Following the manual, the port is not used when there is not agent used, so why do i have this problem ?
So what do i have to do ?

    help needed...
    thnx.
    Philippe.

    fping ?

    Philippe,

Pls. check you have installed fping !
You realy need this one for the simple check's
and pls. don't confuse fping with the std. ping
installed with your OS or windows.
