    agent problem in windows client

    i have install agent in windxp client :

    zabbixW32.exe install (file zabbix_agentd.conf in c:\)

    and it's installed succesfully, but when i run test

    C:\>ZabbixW32.exe test
    Using configuration file "C:\zabbix_agentd.conf"
    Configuration file OK
    [05-Mar-2007 18:14:47] *************** Log file opened ****************
    [05-Mar-2007 18:14:47] Collector thread initialized successfully

    Unable to bind socket: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network a
    ddress/port) is normally permitted.

    any suggestion? i dunno what to do.. zabbix server run in fedora core 6

    Seems either you try to run multiple instances of the agent and only the first is able to get the port (10050), or that last instance you run is still holding on to the port.

    Tcp socket remains in linger.

    with netstat you can see if the port is released

    Then you can launch the agent

      It may not just be zabbix either. You may have another service running on your service that uses that port. I had a similar conflict with BackupExec running on port 10000. You might find fport handy. It will tell you the name of the process using each port.
