    Trapper mode problem?

For the moment I have installed my zabbix server and zabbix agentd on the same host (localhost) using the loopback IP 127.0.0.1. I have configured etc/services.
The only think that i can't do is configuring etc/inetd.conf because I don't have such a file!! (I'm on fedora core 6).

My problem is that my 10051/tcp does not open! and active checks fail (agent and server are running)
Here is what my agent log says :

2941:20070531:172118 Getting list of active checks failed. Will retry after 60 seconds
2941:20070531:172218 Getting list of active checks failed. Will retry after 60 seconds
2941:20070531:172318 Getting list of active checks failed. Will retry after 60 seconds
2941:20070531:172418 Getting list of active checks failed. Will retry after 60 seconds

    Anybody has a solution?

I'm having the same problems. I downloaded the latest zabbix today and have a fresh install. The only difference is that I am using the server's IP address on the agent and server. I can't figure out what I'm missing here. Anyone have any ideas of where to start?

In my situation, the problem came from my firewall in fact!!!
My network is completely secure so I shut it down. But you just have to add a rule to let port 10051 tcp free and the same for port 10050 on the agent.

        I hope it helped.
