    SASL authentication disable?

I am trying to get Jabber notification to work, but I have run into a problem--I am running an old Jabber server that doesn't support SASL authentication. Is there a way to disable the SASL authentication for Jabber connections so I can use my old server?

I think it won't use SASL if it is not available.

If it has that ability, then I am stumped. The logs show that zabbix is trying to connect to the jabber server, but no alerts. The frontend shows the alerts as not sent, no error noted. The zabbix_server.log shows only these entries and no more:

      29452:20070531:144433 JABBER: sending message
      29452:20070531:144433 JABBER: connecting as gserver@callisto, pass <pwd>

      Thoughts?

FWIW, I upgraded to the OpenFire IM server, and the alerts work well...for a few minutes. Then Zabbix gets disconnected from the server and no more alerts via Jabber work until I restart the zabbix server. Sounds like a keepalive issue?
