I'm installing Zabbix 1.3.7 under Ubuntu (Dapper). I'm following the .pdf file that I found in the docs directory.
In steps 8 through 10 in the pdf, I'm to edit config files in /etc/zabbix. However, the files mentioned aren't there - they're in misc/conf under the build directory. Did the PDF screw up by not mentioning copying them over manually, or did the Makefile not execute that step? I copied them manually and am proceeding from there.
I am installing Zabbix on my desktop machine for evaluation purposes, and to document any gotcha's in the installation process. My employer has dozens of machines that need to monitored, and our current implementation of nagios just isn't it cutting it. I'm hoping zabbix will do better.
