    Problem with action conditions

    CONTEXT:

At my environment I setup Zabbix triggers names with "key names" that represent IT teams. For example:

    [Unix-TEAM] Host unavailable
    [Backup-TEAM] Backup client unavailable

Then I use these "key names" to alert specifics groups of people about the incident.

    I use Zabbix 1.4 upgraded from 1.1.6.

    PROBLEM:

I have actions configured like that:

    Name: Backup messages
    Event source: Triggers
    Type of calculation: AND
    Conditions: Trigger description like "Backup-TEAM"
    Trigger value = "TRUE"
Operations: Send message to Group "Backup-TEAM"

    Name: Unix Messages
    Event source: Triggers
    Type of calculation: AND
    Conditions: Trigger description like "Unix-TEAM"
    Trigger value = "TRUE"
Operations: Send message to Group "Unix-TEAM"

When, for example, trigger "[Unix-TEAM] Host unavailable" is "On", messages are sent to groups Unix-TEAM and Backup-TEAM, when they should just be sent to Unix-TEAM. The same problem occurs when I use "Host group" or "Trigger severity" to form conditions.

Anyone has the same problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Go to the directory where untarred ZABBIX sources are:

        patch -p0 <actions.patch

This patch is meant for zabbix v.1.4 or 1.4.1. So just update to latest stable release.
