    Discovery/SNMP errors

I'm getting multiple SNMP errors in zabbix_server.log when I enable the discovery. The errors look like

    snmp_build: unknown failure 2414:20070613:110322 SNMP error [1]
    snmp_build: unknown failure 2414:20070613:110322 SNMP error [1]
    snmp_build: unknown failure 2414:20070613:110322 SNMP error [1]
    snmp_build: unknown failure 2414:20070613:110322 SNMP error [1]
    snmp_build: unknown failure 2414:20070613:110322 SNMP error [1]

Can anyone help me with them, or, at least, could anyone tell me how can I localize these errors or maby how can I make them look more specific ?

I use Zabbix (1.4 from source) on Solaris 10 x86 with net-snmp 5.4 built from source too.

The errors do not come directly from ZABBIX server, it seems to be error messages dumped to stderr by the SNMP library itself. It is out of our control.

If I get it right this error appears when Zabbix tries to connect ot an SNMPv2 device with a wrong community string. Check your community string in thу template and host settings. Hope this helps.

I was probably wrong. After rechecking my config, I found that these errors were caused by the incorrect SNMP OIDs in discovery rules. After correcting my discovery rules those errors didn't repeat any more. Also check SNMP OIDs in items.
