    EMC AX 100i SAN

Is there a way to get the Zabbix agent installed on a SAN? I have a device connected via ISCSI through a server. This device has two pools SPa/SPb that represent network space. The server that represents the SAN is monitored through Zabbvix but only the C & D local drives. Is there a way to monitor the SP pools? Both of these pools have ip addresses assigned to them(for web viewing) Do I need to install the agent on the SAN and how to accomplish that if possible or just add the ip addresses as hosts into Zabbix and it will retireve the necessary info setup through triggers?

    Thanks for your input.

If the SAN is based on a UNIX like OS, then it can be done. However I wouldn't do so because of security/stability/maintenance/whatever considerations.

It is a great change that the SAN supports monitoring via SNMP. You may try to use 'snmpwalk' command to see what data is available.

Or request the SNMP MIB from EMC and use a MIB-Browser.
      It's much more intuitive
