zabbix_sender : works only with hostname

    Bonjour (just some french)

Have you got the same pb ? (zabbix-1.4 on Linux)
    zabbix_sender -z zabbix -s hostname -k keyname -o value : OK
    zabbix_sender -z zabbix -s FDQN -k keyname -o value : failed
    zabbix_sender -z zabbix -s @IP -k keyname -o value : failed

Little mistake in Manual v1.4-007 page 65
    ./zabbix_sender ... -h LinuxDB3 ...
    should be
    . /zabbix_sender ... -s LinuxDB3 ...

    hug (newly zabbix addicted)

Yes, it works with host names only because it is the only (apart of hostid) unique host identifier. Commandline help and documentation is already amended to avoid any confusion.

      Bonjour (an other french !)

      I discovered the same probleme...

Just a précision : it works with the ZABBIX hostname (with which you created the corresponding host in the Zabbix frontend), and NOT the UNIX hostname.
In most case, both are the same, and this detail is invisible....
