Agent less Host, Zabbix 1.4

So, Lets take the example of an Agent less Host.

I have tried this with the previous versions of Zabbix and it had been working perfectly :

Just by adding a host, Zabbix detects if it is alive or dead. (Regardless of the fact if it is an agent or agent less host.)
We can see the result of all the hosts on the front end under the Availability Option.

But i tired the similar thing with Zabbix 1.4 and it gave the error

3949:20070615:164832 Get value from agent failed. Error: Cannot connect to [192.168.100.45:10050] [Connection refused]

Even though the Agent Less host was alive !

I clearly need an agent less host to be monitored using External Scripts.

I am kind of stuck over here.
Any clues ?

You need to use the Standalone Template.

As far as my knowledge goes, Template only contains a set of Items and Triggers.

So, It should'nt really be mandatory to use a template when we define a host.
As the detection of the host is independent of the template we use.
