Error when applying regexp to Log item

I'm running Zabbix v1.4 server on Ubuntu 7.04, and monitoring a Mandriva box with agentd v1.1.7 (couldn't get agentd v1.4 working).

The installation is running fine, and I'm currently monitoring 2 Linux boxes and 2 Windows boxes.

However, when I create a Log item, like Log[/tmp/zabbix_agentd.log], all of the specified logfile is being recorded / monitored by Zabbix server. No problem there!

But when I add the regexp pattern, like 'ERROR', or something like that, I get the following message in the agents log file:

Cannot open [/tmp/zabbix_agentd.log,ERROR] [No such file or directory]

This is a very basic functionality, that must be used by a lot of people. Please tell me what I am doing wrong here.

    Great product!

    Regards,
    Mikkel

I don't think 1.1.x agents support log filtering on agent side. Upgrade to 1.4.x.

      Ok, thanks for your reply.

I haven't had much luck running agent 1.4 on Mandriva yet. When I activate 1.4, almost all of my unit_t-items go "Not Supported", but from the agents log, data is getting sent ok.

The items under Latest data, have values like "ZBXD"...

On top of that, my original Log-item doesn't return values at all.

      Maybe I should try 1.4.1?

      Regards,
      Mikkel

The server log shows a lot of entries like this one:

Type of received value [ZBXD^A^C] is not sutable for [proc.num[]@fxdk2] having type [3]
        Returning NOTSUPPORTED

        When using agent 1.4

I'm running the 1.4 server alright, but with a 1.1.7 agent, since the 1.4 agent causes the errors mentioned above.
