    guest is not seeing triggers

    Hello,

    i updated from 1.1.6 to 1.4.
Everything works, still have a lot to do because links from templates were gone.
But i have the problem that 'guest' is not seeing any triggers, graphs or maps.
When i log in with a user, i see the triggers.

guest is in group WEB viewers and web viewers has read only access to everything.

i added a new screen with a clock, and the guest can see it.
in that screen i add a graph i made and after that the specific screen dissapears from the menu.
when i delete that graph in the screen again, the guest can see the screen again...

When i change that user from "zabbix user" to "zabbix admin", i can see the maps and screens but then i have access to "configuration" and i don't want that.

Is this a bug ?? HELP NEEDED please, we use this in a operational environment and regular users must be able to contact the screens and maps.

    regards and thanks,
    Philippe.

I have the same problem on a Debian System with Zabbix 1.4.2 (1.4.2-4).

I've tried going through the PHP code to debug this but I'm in way over my head. Does anybody know why this is happening or how to fix it?

      The permissions system is strange.

To check it go in admin/users/guest
click show of "User rights (Show)"

The easiest thing is to use groups.

You get things just right you might have to play with things like give a user "type user" and give them read/write to the hosts.

My guest user (and the guests group it is in) has read only access to everything, including the templates. You mean I need to give it WRITE access to have it be able to view the triggers?

Update: Indeed, it works now. I guess setting the user/group to 'Zabbix User' is what prevents it from getting to the configuration. Many thanks for the tip, I would never have thought of that!
