    Monitoring a Telephone Switchboard

Hello I'm a System's Administrator in Barcelona, Spain. Where I work, my department has installed Zabbix to monitoring our servers and switches. We want to monitor a Telephone Switchboard.
We can do a ping from any machine and the Telephone Switchboard answer correctly this ping, but in Zabbix this doesn't happens because the trigger Alive has always value=true, it seems the ping that Zabbix does it doesn't answereed or received, Can something help me? Thanks a lot and excuse me for my poor English!

    dear ivan,

what item and trigger are you using? if icmpping, do you have fping installed on zabbix_server?
if not, you may need to do it and also check path in zabbix_server.conf. also check sticky bit in fping executable.

    cheers,
    arc

Ok, I have this correctly. I believe the problem is another because if I do ping from a host in the same net (192.168.19.xxx) and the switchboard answer. But form another net, 192.168.17.xxx this don't happens and I believe the problem is some rule of Firewall, because the ping has to pass first in this. I will explain you next week. Thanks a lot!
