    1.4.1 : Distributed monitoring don't work

    Hi,

i've got two working zabbix servers in our network. the first one is the master (1) and the other are the remote (2) node. Both are in different networks, they can talk together, but only on some ports.

When i create an host on the remote node (2), then they send (only) history date to the master node (1).

    remote (2) ####
952:20070704:083552 NODE 2: Sending new history of node 2 to node 1 datalen 939
    952:20070704:083552 NODE 2: Sending new history_uint of node 2 to node 1 datalen 543
    ####

    master (1) ###
3059:20070704:083553 NODE 1: Received history from node 2 for node 2 datalen 939
3061:20070704:083553 NODE 1: Received history from node 2 for node 2 datalen 543
    ####

and the master will paste this informations, with the node id 2 (e.g. 200000000018451) in his database. Nice so far, but what should i do now with this informations.

I can't see this data in the webfrontend. I think, that the remote node (2) must send configuration data to the master node (1) ???

is ther any misunderstanding from my side, or it's still an bug ?

    Thanks

    Mario

Yes, the remote note supposed to send configuration changes every 5 minutes, opposed to historical information which is sent every 10 seconds. Wait 5 minutes and report back. Check also configuration of nodes on both nodes.

      Hi,

thanks for the fast repley. I have follow your instruction, and created on the webfrontend from the remote node (2) an new host. And wait then...

But the only thing who was transfered to the master (1) was

      ###
      1180:20070704:095301 NODE 2: Sending new history_uint of node 2 to node 1 datalen 830
1180:20070704:095311 NODE 2: Sending new events of node 2 to node 1 datalen 316
1180:20070704:095311 NODE 2: Sending new history of node 2 to node 1 datalen 1949
      1180:20070704:095311 NODE 2: Sending new history_uint of node 2 to node 1 datalen 800
      ###

After 15 minutes i have deleted this host, and created it again. But this time
i have created it on the web frontend of the master node. ther i have switched to the remote node.

      But still the same !!!

Restart both nodes. I think ZABBIX server was not restarted after you modified information about local node.

            Hi,

i have placed now both servers in the same network. Changed the IP Adresses in the Node Config, and made several test again.

Still the same Problem, the remote (2) Host sends history and events to the master (1). But on the master ther are no configuration changes or something else.

I can't see any host on the master, which the remote are monitors.

I hope that anybody can help me further.

            Thanks

            Mario

Do both nodes have a unique NodeID defined in configuration file?

                Hi Alexei,

yes both nodes got ther own node id. master have the id 1, and the remote one has the id 2.

The sync from node 2 to 1 are working :

7156:20070704:111927 NODE 1: Received history from node 2 for node 2 datalen 791

But the node 1 don't recive any configuration changes.

I'd check to see if the patch that I provided in my thread might help. It resolved my issue that was similar to what you're seeing.
