    *UNKNOWN* value in mail alert

    I am newbie to zabbix, I had successfully monitored more than 70 nodes on nagios from last one yesar. After listening about zabbix i was trying to monitor my servers with zabbix I am facing problem while generating alerts.

    I am monitoring it using zabbix version 1.4.1

    I am monitoring MSSQL user connections using key

    perf_counter[\SQLServer:General Statistics()\User Connections]

    I was able to monitor it properly but when i trying to generate alerts through mail or sms. I wasn't able to get the output value in it.
    I am using following macros in action.

    {HOSTNAME}:- {DATE}, {TIME}:Users connected To MSSQL are {{HOSTNAME}:{TRIGGER.KEY}.last(0)}

    But i get the mails as

    mssql.logix.com:- 2007.07.13, 16:40:24:Users connected To MSSQL are *UNKNOWN*

    If i do zabbix_get i get

    [root@king bin]# ./zabbix_get -s 203.124.132.168 -k"perf_counter[\SQLServer:General Statistics()\User Connections]"
    15.000000

    Is this UNKNOWN value is coming because output is float value.

    please help.

    Thanks in advance
    shrinivas

    Thanks for reporting this. It seems to be a problem with processing of macros having the ':' in item keys.

      i used 1.4 and now using 1.4.1. , for Trigger with CPU utilization and item key in float i set the follow Action to send email in below format:

      Last recorded value is {{HOSTNAME}:{TRIGGER.KEY}.last(0)}.

      my email output DOES show "Last recorded value is 95.43 %."

        It sounds like the problem only occurs when the ":" is actually used in the key name in the items field.

            {{HOSTNAME}:{TRIGGER.KEY}.last(0)}

            eg... mysql last had {{HOSTNAME}:{TRIGGER.KEY}.last(0)} processes running on Hostx

                I am already using {HOSTNAME}:- {DATE}, {TIME}:Users connected To MSSQL are {{HOSTNAME}:{TRIGGER.KEY}.last(0)}

                which i think is correct problem is i am getting output as *UNKNOWN*

                    I was able to generate alerts for floating for normal items like load ,but i think problem is with : in key of item.i.e

                    perf_counter[\SQLServer:General Statistics()\User Connections]
