    Extreme Data loss

After upgrading Zabbix server 1.1.3 to version 1.4.1, my Hosts weren't connected to the applications. Also the template linkage was gone.

Today i wanted to re-connect the hosts to templates and applications (about 1:40 PM). Everything seemed ok, all item history values were OK.

At about 3:20 PM i checked the historys again:
All data older than 1:40 PM was gone!!!

I was forced to play back my mysql-backup from 0:00h this night.

    What happened?
Was the data erased or didn't the GUI just not find it?
I have a mysqldump that contains the damaged zabbix DB, maybe it helps...

I think this needs some clarification...

What are your housekeeping settings under the General TAB for trends and events? Also, are your history under the items around 90 days?

I think this ought to be in "known problems", somebody steps on it every day without knowing.
By the way i checked out source tree from 1.4.2 and database patch sql is the same as in 1.4.1 so it seems like this hasn't been fixed. Untill then i cannot even try 1.4* since upgrade script does not convert data properly.

Please announce when it will be fixed.

          History: 7 Days
          Trends: 365

Now- before someone's screaming because of the History = 7 Days:
I wrote "ALL" data. Means, i had nothing left, even no trends.

got hit by the same problem.
as far as i know, applications after upgrade are fixed in current svn (judging from changelog), not sure about template linkage.

it's a very nasty problem. we will try to investigate in two directions, first, how to safely restore data we have in backups (though we would still miss some data...) and how to fix template linkage without reapplying them (thus destroying a lot of information and configuration)

Template linkage is also fixed in the pre 1.4.2.
