    Jabber support good but unstable

using Openfire server and tested with 1.4.1

it works like a charm with dummy trigger But after receving jabber alert, i made dummy trigger FALSE and waited 5-10min. made dummy trigger = TRUE again, Actions jabber alerts 'Sent' but i received nothing.

To solve this problem, i killed and restarted the zabbix_server process and retry the above, it works again but died....later after 5-10min

any solution ? is using sendxmpp script a good solution ? how can i go about using it.

    Cheers

Zabbix 1.4 jabber support works like charm with jabber.org

after 3 days of intense installation to use sendxmpp script with my Openfire server, i finally give out and opt for an account @jabber.org. previously i was going to use my Openfire server with sendxmpp script but i have hell time installing sendxmpp on my Linux !!!

guess what !!! Zabbix server works constantly well with an account @jabber.org.

Reason: Openfire server has crash with XML::AuthSend for sendxmpp therefore i had a hardtime running sendxmpp script.

Conclusion: throw jabber script away!! juz use supported in-built Jabber BUT open an account at jabber.org and not use your own server (eg Openfire which will drop connection (permantely unless u restart server) with zabbix_server after 1st 10min)
