permission issue

zabbix 1.4.1, upgraded from 1.1.

a user is set to be 'zabbix super admin', but also is in a group that has r/o access to some hosts (for notification receiving).

permissions for this group are overriding super admin status, thus these hosts are r/o for the user.

what would be the best solution in this case ?

still the same with 1.4.2.

is this a bug or is it supposed to be this way ?

well documentation is sometimes a bit low but i've read all about permission model yesterday and would advise you to read the pdf carefully. 1.1/1.4 permission model is total different and now much more usable so just read the manual and start giving permissions from scretch- if you have preciseble questions i will give a more preciseble answer but for what i've read in your post i strongly recommend reading doc, it will help a lot.
