Server crash during database dump

Almost every other time i'm performing mysqldump on zabbix database zabix server crashes:
30924:20070821:185125 Get value from agent failed. Error: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed
[Connection reset by peer]
30924:20070821:185125 Host [xxxx]: first network error, wait for 15
seconds
30924:20070821:185125 Parameter [service_state[SQLSERVERAGENT]] will be checked
after 240 seconds on host [xxxxx]
30923:20070821:193814 One child process died. Exiting ...
30923:20070821:193816 ZABBIX Server stopped


It doesnt matter which version it is.
1.0.7 crashes, 1.4.1 crashes as well.


Is it possible to at least make zabbix more durable so it would not shut down if one child process got horked?
