    1.4.2 on FC7 - 'configure' problem

I'm trying to compile 1.4.2 from source - I have ( I think ) installed all the goodies needed by zabbix.

    AT one point while running:

    #./configure ----enable server --with-mysql

    I receive the following error:

checking for main in -lmysqlclient ... no
configure: error: Not found mysqlclient library

What to I need to install to get this library?

all mysql packages on the FC7 disc have been installed.

recommend grabbing rpms from fedora main site

I would highly recommend grabbing the rpm's from fedora's main site. If you need to adjust/tweak any parameters grab the src.rpm and adjust the .spec file and then rpmbuild -ba zabbix.spec

      library needed

you will need mysql, mysql-server, mysql-devel rpms. yum should resolve those for you. you can also just do a yum install zabbix zabbix-agent and yum will take care of any dependencies.

I figured out that yum was not actually installing everything when I did that. I had to go back in behind it and add all the version numbers. I guess rpm -iv is still my friend (grin).

I can now configure it, but had to remove jabber and net-snmp from the options. I have both net-snmp packages installed, but they aren't found by configure.

I didn't have these problems w/ 1.1 on FC6, but then again, I had differnet install instructions for that build that had a more complete list of necessary packages.

Can't locate jabber-devel on my disc or on rpmfind.net

Where do I go to get it?
