Problems with Zabbix 1.4.2 in distributed monitoring

    Hello Together,

i use ZABBIX 1.4.2 in a test distributed monitoring envirnment and i have some problems.

For the setup i used the wiki (http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/doku.php?...:ubuntuinstall) and changed the nodeids and started the convert.

The configuration is okey and the two node are replicating the informations.

The problem is that they (sometimes) replicate duplicate entrys.
The configuration, trigger, maps, graphs and so on are replicated.

But i didn't get latest data in the webfrontend. All the other Information are visible.

After days of playing around with 1.4.2 and distributed monitoring I'm having to give up. I have had similar errors as to what you are describing here. Today when I added a new template (Dell Openmanage) to an existing server on a distributed node a large number of mysql errors flooded the screen, and while the hosts screen showed the new template added to that host, the triggers did not show up in the triggers screen.

I tried deleting a different node, then adding it back in from scratch with the template(s) I needed defined. Now the host doesn't show up in the triggers screen at all.

I really like where Zabbix is going, and it has some real potential. Unfortunately I'm in a position to where I don't have the time to debug and resolve issues such as this so I'll have to move on.

    Good luck,
    John

      Hello John,

      so am I...
I've installed the pre 1.4.2 an it runs very fine. Also in a distributed environment. As I recognized that the 1.4.2 has released I was very happy and I would install it for my productive environment, but it had some heavy bugs in it.

      I can't import my templates from 1.4.1.
If you link the imported template with a host, I got duplicated items and triggers.

I'am lokking forward to the 1.6.x of ZABBIX

      With kind regards

      Markus

I still cannot confirm that 1.4.2 has any issues with distributed monitoring. I need some time to reproduce reported problems...
