Performance Questions

Hi,

I have many questions on the Zabbix performance

This is the situatin:

Monitoring-machine:

2CPU

1024MB RAM

80GB HD

Template: 12

Example:

Network

System

Web_Service

Items for each Template: 20 (average value)
Web check: 247 (only 1 hosts)
Trigger for each Template: 10 (average value)
Host monitored: 26 (Router, FW, Server...)

Problem:
I have linked the templates to each hosts (it's ok) after this
I have seen that in the each graphs ther are different HOLES, all in the same time for about 25min ,because zabbix don't show and it don't store all values in this time...

This is certaly a performance problem...

How the question :
1) Were is the bootleneck?
2) How many resource (Memory, CPU time...) use a sigle Items, a sigle Trigger...?
3) Whene an items is NOT SUPPORTED, zabbix continue to send the request to the agent?
4) Whene an items is DISABLE...?
5) Is it necessary to modify MySQL?
6) Is it better a standard Zabbix check or a script check?
7) Is a template unused a problem?
8) Where can I behave to improve the performance?
9) How many do the Web (JSP) check impact the performance?

How I have unlinked all template and I try to insert single template to see, what it is the maximun number supported...

Items update "pile up"

I saw that:
each time that there is a hole in the history graphic all Items update are in queue "more than 5 minutes".
The holes are periodicales (each hour more or less).

I think that the proplem is the update time of each items.
Each hour the items required the update in the same istant, while in other time the items required the update in different moment (and all work). (the motive is the time-update out of phase)

How can I modify the time update to avoid this problem?

I would suggest upgrading to 1.4.2. It may be related to a housekeeper issue of 1.4 and 1.4.1.

I try to set the update time with odd values (31s, 119s, 59s....)
