[1.4.2] Incorrect key format adding items

    Greetings

I cannot create items with special characters and umlauts (/[]%áéí...). Zabbix think "Incorrect key format"
Fix proposed by globifrosch in this thread for defines.inc.php solve item's problem but now triggers bassed in items without special characters and umlauts cannot be created/updated because Zabbix say "Incorrect triggers expression"

I obtain also "Incorrect trigger expression" linking triggers templates with special characters and umlauts (/[]%áéí...)

I noticed the same on Zabbix 1.4.3

I use the per_counter and the name of many counters on a german windows system have äöü.

        News ?

There are some news about that ? (patch,...)

The modification of "defines.inc.php" or enter item keys without special caracters and then to edit mysql "item" table with special caracters, seems to be not very reliable so the only solution, for the moment, for perf_counter (for example) with special caracter is to put into each zabbix_agentd.conf ?

        Thank's in advance

            I don't find any solution !
When the item's key don't contain special caracter I put it in web interface otherwise in zabbix_agentd.conf !

            I hope an evolution.

              zabbix version 1.4.2.
              Change "defines.inc.php":

hopefully, the REGEX is going to change, to include umlauts in future releases.
