Does each host need a different port??

    Hi

I have set up 2 hosts for monitoring to start off with. One is a windows machine set on port 10005 and one linux. When i set the linux host to port 10005 it becomes unreachable, however when i set it to port 10004 for example it can be monitored. As a result, does this mean that every host i add needs to be set on a different port? or only hosts which are of a different OS (although i dont see how this would make a difference).

    Thanks for your help

    No

No, you don't need different port numbers for different hosts. You may use default 10000 for all your hosts, if you want, no problem at all.

Just make sure that ZABBIX agents configured to listen right ports.
