Latest values of a child node host

Hi,

It could be rather a question than a problem. I succesfully set up a distributed monitoring with two nodes (1.4.2 with mysql backend on both). My problem is when i go to the Latest values screen I can see only that host's values which is defined on the master node. Child node's hosts were showed up but the last_check, last_value,change columns are empty. If I click on a graph defined e.g. free memory then it shows the correct historical data as I expect. I spent two hours to figure out is it a configuration error or what and why them do not show up.

Currently distributed monitoring does not synchronize the latest data due to potentially excessive inter-node traffic for large setups. This will be supported in future releases, perhaps even in 1.4.3.

i have downloaded pre-release from development (4741) compiled and installed on both testing nodes. should history data be synced with this pre release or is there a difference between svn and development nightly builds? i thought i should see any latest data now but its not the case.

The 4741 and later should sync the latest data and the information should be seen in the latest data and the overview screens.

thanks for answer. do i have to activate sync of latest data anywhere in configuration or gui? also would you mind answering http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7617 i am trying to get 1st. cluster productive. most old issues seems to be sorted

I verified installation and zabbix_server -V shows 1.4.3 on both nodes.

history data (e.g. latest value) is still not visible for the child nodes clients.
funny thing not on child then on master. but graphs and alarms etc. is working properly. iam

may i try todays night build, any changes on this?

edit: latest data is visual on slave node. stupid mistake again. sorrz
but synchronization to master is 100% not working. iam going to try cvs version. maybe something went wrong with the night build.

its finally working

i have no glue what went wrong. as i explaint earlier in thread both nodes server binary showed (1.4.3) on zabbix_server -V but i recompiled it on both nodes doing an rm -Rf zabbix-1.4.2; tar -xvz pre-zabbix-1.4.3; cd zabbix-1.4.2 ...

after configure and make binaries are larger then on last compile. i guess i had a race condition with an earlier 1.4.2 src directory on first try. at least i have no other explanation.

I see that this worked in version 1.4.3 was it removed in 1.6? In the 1.6 docs section 14.7.1 Child to Master:

ZABBIX does not send operational data across the nodes. For example, itemrelated information (last check, last value, etc) exists only locally.

I have the same issue (posted it in another thread).
I believe this also screws with trigger evaluation for child node triggers on the master node.
