    Windows Agent, Eventlog blowing up totally

    Hello,

    the windows agent 1.42 is working fine, but it is blowing up the System Eventlog.
    It records every request for every value there.

    How can I get rid of that huge amount of messages.
    There is in the zabbix_agentd.conf file only host and servername.
    No debug level.

    As you can estimate, I can not see anymore any real problme in the system log.

    Does someone has the same effect?
    On the older client I never nocticed that sort of problem.

    Setting the DebugLevel to zero will disable any debug informations.

    DebugLevel=0

    Or, if you want debug messages you can tell the agent to write the messages into a file instead in to eventlog.

    # Name of log file.
    # If not set, syslog will be used

    LogFile=C:\Temp\zabbix_agentd.log

    Both settings can be done in the zabbix_agentd.conf file.

      Thanks,
      I thought Debug is disabled as default.
      This setting has helped.

        By the way, what messages did you see in the eventlog? Please copy&paste it here.

          Hi,

          attached 2 screen shots form the messages in the windows
          eventlog. I got hundreds of it.

          After setting DebugLevel=0 they disappeared.
          I had not setup a DebugLevel before.

          I did an additionchange and set hostname to the sames as in zabbix.
          I read in the manual, that this must be for wroking with active checks.

          Can it be, that this creates the problem?

            Problem not solvable in 1.4.4

            Hello all,

            I'm having the same problem in 1.4.4.
            However, disabling logging or redirecting to file does not work.
            My eventlog is being battered by log entries.
            Also, since I'm trying to do eventlog monitoring, also my Zabbix server gets a lot of data. Everytime Zabbix agent reports eventlog to server, it generates a new eventlog, creating a loop.

            Help anyone?
            With kind regards,

            Raymond

              oops, too fast

              Sorry, It seems I was wrong.
              I was just watching the event history from within Zabbix server. Apparently the agent had trouble keeping up with the eventlog (the loop).

              I set debuglevel to 2 and all is quiet now.

              However, the Logfile parameter still isn't working.
              With kind regards,

              Raymond

                Seems the agent config file is case sensitive. Be sure to use "LogFile=" and not "logfile="

                Logfile troubles => solved
