currently using in-built Jabber; Zabbix 1.4.2 and accounts @jabber.org
all is fine BUT every 4-5 days zabbix server fails to send jabber alerts anymore (all others such as email / sms are working normally) even when [Monitoring > Action > Jabber alerts Sent]
How i solve this problem for the past 1.5 months is to kill and restart zabbix_server process
Question: of coz i can setup a cron job to kill/restart zabbix_server every 4 days or so BUT seriously does zabbix_server has any 'detection ways' to alert adminstrator that (connection from jabber alert system's link to jabber.org) is Down ???
(Note) sometimes i found out that jabber.org website is Down for maintenance and zabbix_server fails to send Jabber alerts...OK this is fair But after jabber.org went Up again, zabbix_server cannot recover the 'connection' by itself anymore.
Suggestion: can zabbix_server refresh jabber conenction periodically? such that it close and reopen connection every 1 hr or so.... ?
