Redhat dependantcy issue with zabbix_client rpm

I managed to track down an rpm package for Zabbix Client at http://www.andreas-mueller.com/ repository. I am getting the following dependancy error

    Code:
    # rpm -i zabbix-agent-RedHat-1.4.2-3.el5.i386.rpm
warning: zabbix-agent-RedHat-1.4.2-3.el5.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 217521f6
    error: Failed dependencies:
            rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by zabbix-agent-1.4.2-3.el5.i386
and cannot locate an rtld package in any repository. Can any of you Redhat/Fedora/Cent-OS gurus point me in the right direction?

P.S. I am more of a BSD kinda guy, and BTW the target server has NO internet access. It is not and will not be subscribed to a repository.

What version of RHEL/CentOS is on your server? The el5 suffix means that it is compiled for RHEL5 and probably will not work with RHEL4.

True enough. What I discovered is that rtld(GNU_HASH) was added to glibc-2.6 release. Our current installed version is glibc-2.4-31.1. I need to get permission from our vendor to update, because I may break something in their applications and end up owning a problem.

The servers identify version as GNU/Linux 2.6.16.21-0.25.smp

In your situation I would choose to rebuild my own rpm packages from a source rpm. You can get one from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/testing/ when you are RHEL/CentOS based or from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu.../source/SRPMS/ when you are on Fedora.

Yes. Build your own, it is not hard. You don't want to go updating glibc.

My situation is that I do not "own" the services running on these particular servers. They are maintained by a vendor. Altering the configuration in any way, shape, or form may result in me being suddenly unemployed.

P.S. I wish SNMP services were on them. I would dispense with installing the Zabbix client at all.
