    Hi,

I've successfully compiled zabbix 1.4.2 under CentOS 5 and installed it on the same system as a server and agent working as a VPS under OpenVZ. I can't seem to see any data comming in from the server within the MySQL client. These are my conf files:

I can't find out what's wrong. Is there a way to test correct communication?

I must have asked something realy stupid or I'm the only one having this very weird problem no one dares to respond to.

I'm really out of solutions and can't seem to solve it myself. So this is my last cry for help! Hope to address someone here.

    Regards,

    Marc

To me it seems your post is not very specific as to what you are looking for. Nothing in your posts jumps out at me as an error, granted I don't spend much time looking through the error logs unless I need to so I'm not all that well versed.

What specifically are you looking for? Have you run "netstat -tlnp | grep zabbix_server" to ensure the server is running on the right eithernet adapter and port? Have you gone to Monitoring -> Latest Data to see if there is anything comming in for your host? If you are using external checks such as those for MySQL have you tested them from the command line as the zabbix user? Hopefully a little more detail will help someone help you. :-)

I can't seem to receive any data and I'ven't got a clue why? Everything seems to be configured OK. I've compiled Zabiix server and agent again without SNMP support. Who knows? Maybe there's something wrong with this combination. But I get the same result.
Than I notice that the queue of items to be updated reports a date time of "01.01.1970 01:00:00" per item. That's weird.

If I telnet to my agent I every thing seems to be OK. E.g:

        # telnet zabbix 10050
        Trying 192.168.2.208...
        Connected to zabbix.
        Escape character is '^]'.
        agent.version
        ZBXD1.4.2Connection closed by foreign host.

So my conclusion is now that the PHP front end doesn't fire requests to the agent because of the queue items that go back in time?

        What about that?
