    Host unreachable

    Dear list,
I have zabbix-server-mysql 1.1.4-10 running on Debian Etch, which retrieves data for several machines. A pool of them is in a remote site: provided that I have more than one machine, I associated a different port (from 10051 to 10057) to each machine. On the remote site I have a firewall (Shorewall) which perform a DNAT to the desired target.
On the firewall of the local site, I perform another DNAT which maps traffic to ports 10050:10051 to zabbix server.
In both sites the data line is a DSL with 2Mbps for both up and downstream.

I frequently receive mails from zabbix-server claiming that remote machines are unreachable: if I look into zabbix-server.log I find such lines:
    [...]
019550:20071106:130112 Cannot connect to [dasrv006] [Connection refused]
019550:20071106:130112 Host [dasrv006] will be checked after 60 seconds
    [...]
    019550:20071106:130213 Enabling host [dasrv006]

That is, the server seems to be unreachable, but after e.g. half an hour it is enabled. Some days nothing happens, but some days I have many mails.

I'd like to know if anybody else has experienced such problem and if I can "relax" zabbix on how to determine if a host in unreachable or not.

    TIA.
