    monitoring hp laserjets with snmp

hi. attempting to monitor hp laserjet printers using snmp (v1) fails.
other snmp devices (upses etc) can be monitored just fine from the same server.

somewhat weird part is that the printer is perfectly accessible with snmpwalk/snmpget - it's only zabbix having problems. item type is correctly set to snmp v1.

when looking at the tcpdump output, strings sent by snmpwalk/get and zabbix differ :

    net-snmp tools :
    GetRequest(39) E:hp.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.8.3.1.3.0
    zabbix :
    GetRequest(399) E:8414304[|snmp]

    any ideas ?

ok, using numeric oid works ok.
in this case, zabbix sends request :
    E:hp.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.8.3.1.3.0

anybody with some insight ? could this be a mib problem ? but net-snmp tools work correctly with both types of oids and nicely translate between them.
