Zabbix Agent halts

I have a communication latency problem with one of my hosts.
The link fluctuates very often.

So, whenever the communication link is bad, Zabbix agent stops communicating with the server.
I noticed that the Zabbix agent works normally on the host but does not communicate with the server, even when the link is back.
The agent thus has to be restarted for the communication to be re-establish.
Is this a bug?

Server: 1.4.2
Agent: 1.4.1
