    MYSQL Performance tuning

I have seen a number of threads where people are having problems with their databases. I thought that I would post my my.cnf file for use under a vmware instance with only 512M memory allocated. Before I do that though, I think using the tool that has helped me to tune the parameters would be a better posting.

    MySQL Performance Tuning Primer Script

This script has given me tremendous feedback on what should REALLY be tuned.

    What I am monitoring:

    Number of hosts 286(185/62/39/0)
    Number of items 3163(2898/259/6)[0]
    Number of triggers 2138(2019/119)[1/1/2017]
    Number of events 61781
    Number of alerts 18352

I saw a reference to a 3Ghz machine with 2G of memory, I would think that server would be able to handle a fairly heavy load.
