Email notification not working

Hello all,

I saw all posts regarding email delivering problems.
Is there any real solution to this problem?
I have Ubuntu 6.10 as server, and Postfix. Zabbix is at 1.4.2 release.
I can't get any mail message from Zabbix when some alarm comes up.
I tried to change in many ways email configuration, helo, server name/ip, localhost, fqdn, email address, but nothing changes.
I tried also to set up a different mail server (instead of the same Zabbix machine).
I see nothing into maillog, nor zabbix_server.log regarding smtp.

Same Problem

Hi,

I'm having the same problem.

I created an idiot trigger ( last(0)>0 ) and I can see that it is working (at least it is showing TRUE in monitoring triggers screen). So I created an action and linked it to the trigger (trigger="triggerName").

And nothing... Even error messages, nothing...

I'm using zabbix 1.4.4 with centos5

email/actions not working

Hi Bob,
I solved this way:

This is referred to the "actions.patch"
I download the patch and applied it to my 1.4.4 install with
patch -p0 <actions.patch
starting from my /usr/local/src/zabbix-1.4.4 inst directory
I forced installation even if ther was a rejected warning.
Than I recompile and reinstall zabbix.
...and I got my 1st message when the trigger came up!

I try to configure a stupid action, but emails is not delivered ...

I follow the Fabrizio solution..now..

Hello Guys...

i have removed gentoo version... and install zabbix from tar.gz package. I have patched file, but action no works..

Follow i post the output of patch command ....

I've installed zabbix 1.4.4 on CentOS 5.1 and have no problem sending alert via email.
I'm using smtp server sendmail.

email alert not working

I'm using zabbix 1.4.5 on debian etch.

My SMTP server (postfix) is on localhost and is working fine with other software.
My email media is configured like that:
SMTP server: 'localhost'
SMTP helo: 'zinfo.ca'
SMTP email: '[email protected]'

So what's wrong and where to look ?

make sure you can from shell use the command: mail [email protected]

If your server have incorrect host name some email system will not recive your messages cos of spam protections and stuff.

Iam under centos5.1 zabbix 1.4.4 works and 1.4.5 works

email alert not working

Thanks fableman. My mail server is working OK, I've made the mail command test and this server is also my principal mail server, so the mail is going localy only and I did not see any activity in my mail.log.
