Problems w/ email Alerting

Hi,

I am running Zabbix 1.4.4 on Ubuntu 6.0.6 LTS. I am having issues getting email alerting to work. Email alerts do not go out through an external mail server. From the Ubuntu/Zabbix server shell prompt I can send mail -- but not through the zabbix App. I have also installed a local postfix server and I am unable to get it to send out mail either.

The installation was done using the the instructions from the following wiki

I then setup an email media type and assigned it to the user. Also, I setup triggers and actions to send out email notifications to the user. None of the above yielded any success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a detailed FAQ for this question. I've seen it asked a bazillion times in the forum. I've never had this problem myself, but I imagine people are missing something simple.

I would suggest searching the forum. Also you're not giving any information useful for troubleshooting your problem either. Did you check your mail server logs?
