    Availability unknown

    Yep !

    I've got 2 servers, each one with an agent installed :
    > ServeurA (which I used to test the zabbix solution) :
    Ubuntu 7.10 with MySQL 5
    Apache 2 and PHP 5
    > ServeurB:
    RHEL 4 with Oracle 10g backend.
    Apache 1.3.11 and PHP 4.3.9.

    When I configure the configuration file for the 2 agents with :
    Server=#IP_Adress_Of_ServeurA#
    I can see in the frontends that the 2 agents are reached normally by the server (Status Monitored / Availability : Available) and I can get data from them. >> All is ok

    But when I configure the configuration file for the 2 agents with :
    Server=#IP_Adress_Of_ServeurB#
    No agent is seen by the server, I've got an 'Availability : Unknown' (see image enclosed). And of course, no datas is collected.

    The configuration files for the 2 servers are the same (except of course database connection). Did I miss something ?

    And another question : in the agent configuration file, when I put the number of forked agent less than 3 (1 or 2), the agent can't be reached by the server. Why ?

      - Is the zabbix_server daemon running?
      - Are you using active checks? if so, are you sure the agents can reach the zabbix server on port 10051?

        Yes, I've got several zabbix_server deamons running.

        I don't think I'm using active checks : all my checks are the ones by default with the Linux Template.
        Code:
        [zabbix@theserver zabbix]$ netstat -anp | grep 10051
         tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:10051               0.0.0.0:*                   LISTEN      4006/zabbix_server
        I also connected by telnet to 10051 port from Serveur A or B to ServerB successfully so no problem apparently.

          Hi !

          I had a problem with my server. Even if my server was launch, it couldn't connect to the Oracle DB :
          Cannot login with THE-USER/THE-PASSWD@THE-DBNAME

          Problem solved thanks to this :

          Bye !
