    libmysqlclient error

I've had nothing but problems with this install of Zabbix, and am ready to give up if I can't figure something out.

When I try to start the server I am now getting the error message:

/usr/local/zabbix/sbin/zabbix_server: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have installed the latest mysql (5.0.25) to /usr/local/mysql and run ldconfig against /usr/local/mysql/lib

Any ideas on what this thing is doing before I try starting over or giving up completely?

I have literally been trying to get zabbix installed now for almost 8 hours. Before I start tearing hair out or throwing things, can someone lend me a hand?

It seems that the server was compiled on a different machine with a different location of the libraries it depends on.

I finally figured it out. I had to edit /etc/ld.so.conf to get it to work because I have libs for the newer mysql in a non-standard area, I guess.

Once I did that, I was able to get it going, though I had to do the same for all of the libs that were in use. Oh, and this is the same machine that I compiled zabbix on, so the libraries were on the same machine.
