    empty graph of monitored host

    Hello, all. I have installed Zabbix on Ubuntu 7.10. I have read zabbix documentation, but don't understand how to monitor a host with icmp?
    I have created a new host as shown on host.jpg
    Then i have created item, as shown on hostittem.jpg.
    But the graph of monitored host is empty.- See hostgraph1.jpg
    At the same time a graph zabbix host parameters looks correctly - ZabbixGraph.jpg Help please. What is wrong?

    Check the last 500 values of the icmpsec item.
    It's possible that the values returned are like 0.000xx which are too small to graph for the default graph settings.

        Goto monitoring->latest data
        Click graph of the item you wish to view (info check 1)
        How use the pulldown to select the last 500values

          There are no any values in the graph - a page "500 latest values iz empty"
          as shown on latestvalues.jpg

            You might want to check if you have fping correctly available to the zabbix server daemon (if installed at all).
            This thread has posts which describe what the fping permissions should look like.

              Yes all permissions are corect
              But i have a qestion - what is SUID?

              ls -l /usr/sbin/fping
              lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2008-01-28 21:10 /usr/sbin/fping -> ../bin/fping

              and zabbix_server.config

              less /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf | grep fping
              # Location of 'fping. Default is /usr/sbin/fping
              # Make sure that fping binary has root permissions and SUID flag set
              FpingLocation=/usr/sbin/fping

                suid is 'set uid' usualy ppl mean 'set to uid of root'.
                This means that the application will run as the user id of the owner, regardless of the person running it.

                btw, you need to check the permissions of /usr/bin/fping because /usr/sbin/fping is a link

                  all permissions looks good. - SUID flag is set.

                  ls -l /usr/bin/fping
                  -rwsrwxrwx 1 root root 22348 2006-06-26 17:54 /usr/bin/fping

                    hmm weird.
                    Do you have StartPingers=1 or more in your zabbix_server.conf?

                      Now, there are a lot of values in latest data and there are shown in the graph. But the graph is very strange. I have a sense that new values are drawn at the left part of graph but a time direction is incorrect.

                        Well, at least you are receiving data

                        About the graphs, its hard to say, the values might be to small, i dont know.
                        I think there are some threads about this, mayb they have a fix . . .
