    Zabbix queue value

    Hi all,
I am configuring zabbix 1.4.5 and have a problem to understand the queue values returned by zabbix...

When looking at the queue on the interface :

QUEUE OF ITEMS TO BE UPDATED
Items 5 seconds 10 seconds 30 seconds 1 minute 5 minutes More than 5 minutes
    ZABBIX agent 19 19 0 0 0 0
    ZABBIX agent (active) 0 0 0 0 0 0
    SNMPv1 agent 0 0 0 0 0 0
    SNMPv2 agent 0 0 0 0 0 0
    SNMPv3 agent 0 0 0 0 0 0
    Simple check 1 2 0 0 0 0
    ZABBIX internal 1 0 0 0 0 0
    ZABBIX aggregate 0 0 0 0 0 0
    External check 0 0 0 0 0 0

    The situation looks good.

But when i use the item zabbix[queue] on the server, i got 7400....

What can explain the difference ? Where are the 7400 of the queue ?

    thx,
    Vinny

are you using a distributed setup?

        ya, one child node...

item zabbix[queue] is always less than 10
the queue on the interface looks like the item, always less than 10

do u think to something ?

Queue status isnt sync'd between the child and master node.
If you are viewing the child node queue on the master, or the master node queue with the 'show with subnodes' option on, it will look like all the child node's checks are queue'd.

This is normal behavior as it would require a relative large amount of traffic to sync the queue status, which on itself is a relative unimportant bit of info.

I only look at the queue with the option "current node only"...
Moreover, big figures for the queue are given through the item zabbix[queue].

Did u mean that on the master the zabbix[queue] item returns 7000 because it takes account of its queue (like 10) plus the "supposed" queue of the child (but because he has not the real queue, he adds all items) ?

In a distributed setup, queue information is not synced between nodes.

So, if you have multiple nodes, and manage all nodes via the webinterface of the main node, you will get false queue info on the childs. It doesnt matter if you select the view of the child node or view the master node with the 'with subnodes' option.
