Every time I configued zabbix to discover snmp devices the following shows up in the server log:
No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging
snmp_build: unknown failure 1942:20080518:071558 SNMP error [1]
snmp_build: unknown failure 1942:20080518:071558 SNMP error [1]
snmp_build: unknown failure 1942:20080518:071558 SNMP error [1]
......
Here is my system information:
Linux sysmon.hemconinc.local 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 #1 SMP Tue Oct 30 13:55:12 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
Packages Installed:
zabbix-agent-1.4.4-1.fc8
zabbix-1.4.4-1.fc8
zabbix-web-1.4.4-1.fc8
net-snmp-libs-5.4.1-6.fc8
net-snmp-utils-5.4.1-6.fc8
net-snmp-5.4.1-6.fc8
net-snmp-devel-5.4.1-6.fc8
The snmpwalk command on these snmp-enabled printers returned a lot of information so I guess the problem is with zabbix?
Otherwise the Zabbix server is working very well.
Thanks!
