            Ops sorry I didn't understand
            try to see if you have java in your path and if not put them on you path.
            about your issue "Can't open /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions" try to remove the line inside the script and let me know

              Here is my path value:
              /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games

              And I remove the line concerning "/etc/rc.d/init.d/functions and now I have an other error message:
              .: 13: Can't open /etc/sysconfig/network

              This directory is for RedHat, isn't it?

                yes everything has been develop and tested on redhat (as documented) other distribution are not tested at all mostly because I have only RedHat (commercial) where i work

                  OK, I understand now.
                  Thank you, maybe I'll install Zabbix on a Redhat machine.

                      Orabbix alive check

                      Hi,

                      I am just starting out with orabbix and zabbix. So far it's looking great! I had a question similar to that of sa22. I am testing running orabbix-1.2.0-RC3.jar against several oracle databases.

                      Today I shut down a test database (9i running on Windows) and get the following error in the orabbix log:

                      Code:
                      2011-08-17 12:32:46,034 [pool-1-thread-12] ERROR Orabbix - Error on dbJob for database TSTDB QueryList error: org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Could not retrieve connection info from pool
                      However, the alive trigger has not fired and is green for that database.

                      I am only using one query file and one config file for all databases. My trigger is: {Template_Oracle:alive.last(0)}#1 and the item is: Alive {HOSTNAME}

                      The latest data for that database is hours ago. Is there something I have missed in the configuration?

                        hit ratio?

                        Hi,
                        could you explain me what the different HIT RATIO stand for?
                        I guess it's the hit ratio for Oracle SGA's buffer, but what are the different hit ratios Orabbix gives? (Table/procedure, sql area, body, trigger)

                          there are different kind of statistics.
                          hitratio is made with the following query
                          select ( sum(decode(name,'consistent gets', value,0)) + sum(decode(name,'db block gets', value,0)) - sum(decode(name,'physical reads', value,0))) (sum(decode(name,'consistent gets', value,0)) + sum(decode(name,'db block gets', value,0)) ) * 100 "hit_ratio" FROM v$sysstat

                          and it's about system statistics.

                          the others are made enquiring library cache

                            Orabbix 1.2.2 has been released!!

                            On this release:
                            Added the following parameter on main configuration file:
                            DefaultUser = <USERNAME>
                            DefaultPassword = <PASSWORD>
                            <DB_NAME>.ExtraQueryListFile = <relative path to extra query file> on query’s properties file I’ve added the following parameter:
                            <QUERY_NAME>.WhenNotAlive = <VALUE>

                            You can download it here
                            ore on sourceforge as usual

                            Complete changelog here:

                            1.2.2
                            Added the following parameter on main configuration file:
                            DefaultUser = <USERNAME>
                            DefaultPassword = <PASSWORD>
                            <DB_NAME>.ExtraQueryListFile =

                            on query’s properties file I’ve added the following parameter:
                            <QUERY_NAME>.WhenNotAlive = <VALUE>

                            with these parameter you can define a default username and password for
                            all the database.
                            DefaultUser = <USERNAME>
                            DefaultPassword = <PASSWORD>
                            this default parameter can be overridden using the couple
                            <DB_NAME>.User and <DB_NAME>.User
                            Is possible to override only Username or Password.

                            the following parameter
                            <DB_NAME>.ExtraQueryListFile =
                            add another custom query to a default query file.
                            if there are duplicate the ExtraQueryListFile will override them.

                            the following parameter
                            <QUERY_NAME>.WhenNotAlive = <VALUE>
                            is used to specify a value or a string to send if a database is not working,
                            doing so you are going to “clean” the graphs generated in Zabbix with a “set” value.
                            This fix the issue introduced by “Zabbix Trapper”:
                            - if Zabbix don’t receive data the graphs don’t change anymore.

                              Orabbix 1.2.3 has been released!!

                              On this release:

                              Fixed the issue with Alive
                              Deeply improved the dynamic recognition of new databases

                              Now you can add and remove databases simply writing them on configuration file.

                              I've improved the scalability.

                              You can download it here

                                Query intervals

                                Would it be possible to be able to run different queries at different intervals.

                                Currently we have some custom scripts that we use to execute queries against an oracle db. These queries allow us to better monitor the health of our customer facing application. Some of the queries run every 5 minutes others run ever couple of hours and some run once a day. I would love to move these queries into orabbix but from what I've found so far all the queries on a database run on the same schedule. Am I missing a config setting or would this be something that easy to implement?
